after being accidentally leaked twice, the curse of deadstick is lifted. it isn't as orchestra-heavy as phantom island (the title track) like i was hoping for, but i dig the hell out of the rock-and-brass sound anyway. the song reminds me of some of the shit-kicking fun tracks from b741, and joey's vocals go insane. hella keen to see what else they do with the orchestra when the full album drops

and oh my god i'm obsessed with this album art. just look at the fucking thing. the fishies, the gators, the galloping horses, the b741 plane and pigs, exactly 15 rats, the mind fuzz rocks, the 6 members hidden through the arches, and possibly the dragon in the upper left? it's all there, a feast of past gizz references. looking at the whole thing just fills me with such a great and unexplainable joy
